Health benefits of neutering your male dog are clearly documented and include the fact that neutered male dogs statistically live 2 years longer, on average, than their un-neutered counterparts. Neutering, or the surgical removal of both testicles, eliminates the source of testosterone in adult male dogs, thereby eliminating testicular cancer and reducing rectal cancers, prostate problems, and certain testosterone related inappropriate behaviors such as urine marking, roaming, certain dominance aggressions and thus makes the older male dog a much more suitable pet and member of our family.
