They say that a dog is a man's best friend, and after watching this story, you'll see why.
This little dog from the Philippines threw herself in front of an oncoming motorcycle to protect two young girls crossing the street. Awww.
This little hero is called Kabang. One of the girls she saved is the nine-year-old daughter of her owner. The girl and her two-year-old cousin were crossing the street, but they weren't looking at where they're going and almost walked directly into a passing motorcycle.
That's when Kabang lunged itself at the motorcycle, and was hit instead of the girls. But the accident took away most of her snout and upper jaw, and Kabang was left with a massive painful gaping wound.
Luckily for her, Kabang survived. Also, the little hero's efforts were so impressive, that her owners managed to raise enough money to help give her the reconstructive surgery she needed.
Now, the accident happened back in December 2011. And in October last year, her owners took her to be treated at the University of California Davis. Then this Monday, little Kabang was released from the hospital.
For the several months she there, vets had to closer her facial wound, reconstruct her nasal opening and put stents there so new nostrils can form. Unfortunately doctors weren't able to reconstruct her snout, so she'll never look the way she did before the accident. But I say, this just gives little Kabang character! Don't you think?
Now that she's out of hospital, she' ready to be reunited with her family back in the Philippines.
Pretty Amazing story, right? What would you say to this little pooch if you ever met her. Leave your comments below and thanks for watching.
